    Still that damn AI.

But an interesting historical recap of an era I knew nothing about.

I don't want that. I want real fights, ring side seat in my living room. I want to feel like I can reach across the coffee table and touch a fighter, of a real, live fight.

I'm all in on VR, not interested in what a computer (AI) can produce unless it practical.

Let AI figure out how to produce energy. Let's not give if the fun parts of life to do for us, lets keep that to ourselves and even have time to do more of it. Let the machine do the work, we should have 'our fun' without its help.

You sure this wasn't on the roll grandma Murphy showed the nice men? With the fights of Ole Harry (such a nice boy) and the Aliens that came after Triple A refused to tow their craft?

Think about it kara, how many years have we had AI Chess matches? And... even then, it took a lot to beat the best machines... even if they were so large they filled a house lol.

A1 has been with us a while... I think what happened was naivety. We assumed that artificial intelligence was bereft of learning and could therefore only be limited by the programers. But you know how science fiction always seems to predict the future of innovation? Star Trek, Cell phones & Google... Well the first heads up might have either been Asimov in I Robot, but could also have been 2001 A space Odyssey.

Enjoyed this. Never really had known the extent of the acrimony between Sullivan and jackson.

I am not sure who would be watching the AI matches. Probably no one. But it would be interesting for a while. How long would it be before a tranny started demanding the right to fight one of the units. A victory over the machine would not mean as much as Big Blue's victory over Kasparov. That was a milestone. These machines will be fighting our wars for us, so no, we will not beat them. EVER. Their reflexes occur at the speed of electron minus mechanical limitations. Their capabilities would have to be programmed way down for a match with humans. AI units fighting each other--now that could be interesting and meaningful again.
